How to cut glass circles

STEP 1.

To cut a circle – start with cutting a square piece of glass approximately 2" bigger than the size of the finished diameter of the circle.

Set your circle or oval cutter to the size needed.

Place the suction cup of your circle cutter in the center of the square.

Make sure that your cutting area is well-oiled by using a brush or a Glass Slicker.

STEP 2.

Scribe a circle with the circle cutter. Make sure you cut doesn't overlap.

Do not scribe the same place twice.

STEP 3.

Use Drop Jaw Pliers to break the score all the way around.

STEP 4.

Take a regular Glass Cutter, scribe four lines in glass going from the circle or oval line out to the edge.  We suggest to keep your glass cutter in CRL  Oil Cutter Stand.

STEP 5.

Use Running Pliers to break glass along those four lines.

STEP 6.

Use Drop Jaw Pliers to remove four excess pieces of glass.

Remove glass chips with CRL Glass Chip Brush.

Smooth sharp edge of the glass with CRL 3M Diamond Handpads or CRL Diamond Handpads.

Always wear Protective Goggles and Gloves while working with glass to prevent injury.
