This CRL Mirror Mount System Cleat has
a unique offset profile which holds a mirror away from direct
contact with the wall surface, and also creates a pocket into which
the Top Channel Cap or a
Mirror Frame Extrusion fits.
The unique offset profile of the cleat helps keep moisture from
being trapped behind the mirror, while also concealing screws and
support hardware. When used with a bottom FHA Type "J" Bar, and a Top Channel Cap the system affords
the installer a neat, trim way to mount mirrors with a narrow (5/16
inch, 7.9 millimeter) frame. If a fully framed system is desired
use Mirror Frame
Extrusion.
Hint: If using the Top Channel
Cap, FHA "J" Bar system,
closed ends can be created by trimming back a potion of the
J-channel, and bending back the front flaps to close off the
ends.
Not recommended for schools, hospitals or institutions where mirror
edges should be protected on all four sides.
