The CRL B5A Series SurfaceMate Adjustable Angle Square Base Shoe and Shimming System is unlike any other base shoe you’ve ever used. This special aluminum extrusion features a curved base that sits a top a curved aluminum block at each bolt location, providing a margin of adjustment to accommodate uneven surfaces. Just install the mounting bolts loosely, then pivot the base shoe until your PAL tool indicates level. Additional matched size aluminum horseshoe shims are available in three thicknesses for adjusting the height when an abrupt dip is encountered. No more tedious shimming to achieve vertical plumb, this new method will adjust within a 3 degree range, well in excess of the maximum allowable floor drainage slopes. The engineered grooves in the inner channel help to reduce the weight of the base shoe by about 15%, which reduces the weight on the mounting substrate, and also helps you save on shipping costs. Approximate weight per 10 foot (3.05 m) stock length is 73 pounds (33 kg).
