CRL 3M® VHB Tape can replace mechanical fasteners such as rivets, spot welds, screws, and liquid adhesives. These and other fasteners have all been successfully replaced in various manufacturing uses by VHB Tape. It bonds too many substrates, and can be used for interior or exterior industrial applications. VHB Tape eliminates drilling for mechanical fasteners, and mixing of liquid adhesives. It applies neatly and easily, conforms to irregular surfaces, and allows concealment in use.

Best adhesion is achieved when applied at temperatures above 70 degrees Fahrenheit (16 degrees Celsius) with adequate initial hand or roller pressure. Also, when surfaces are cleaned with a solution of isopropyl alcohol and water. CRL 3M® VHB Tape achieves 50 percent strength in 20 minutes, 90 percent strength in 24 hours and full strength in 72 hours.
