Grease-mix pastes are made with petroleum
grease. They have the best lubrication qualities and leave a rust-preventive
surface on lapped parts.
Silicon carbide pastes are great for lapping, grinding, cleaning, honing,
and sharpening most metal surfaces to enable smooth mating of metal parts. These
pastes work quickly to produce a flat (but usually not polished) surface on all
but the hardest, toughest metals. Furnished in 1-lb. cans. Color is gray.
