How To: Installing and Using Cable Shelving and Display Systems
Shelf clips, pulley systems, and all other elements of our Cable Shelving and Display System rely on wire connectors. All connections can be rotated so that set screws are not visible in the final application. |
Using mounting plates such as our GWS-AWMBL or GWS-AWMBT, connect a pulley hinge, wire connector, or any Cable Shelving and Display system connector to the wall, ceiling, or other mounting surface. |
Cable Shelving and Display Systems also make use of Turnbuckles. Turnbuckles provide tensioning capacity, allowing for cables to be loosened or tightened as needed. For more in-depth directions, please see our Turnbuckle Assemblies and Accessories category. |
Once the cable is secured, connect a shelf bracket or other connector. These can be used for vertical or horizontal panel mounting, depending on the bracket. Secure the set screw so that the unit does not move. |
Instead of a shelf clamp, a hub may be used with your Cable Shelving System. Hubs require holes to be drilled on the shelves, and the wire passed through their center. |
Using a level, make sure that the bottom shelf is even. Using a pre-cut wood block, set the next higher shelf, and proceed until the system is complete. |

How To: Installing and Using Cable Shelving and Display System Spreader Bars
Spreader Bars can be used to determine the spread between vertical wires of a Cable Shelving and Display System. They can be used to space wires and shelf clips to properly match the shelf depth prior to attachment.
Prior to installing shelves, loosen the Turnbuckle installed on each wire run. Slip the spreader bar onto the wires, and tighten the turnbuckle just enough so that the spreader bars do not slip out. |
Snug first, then tighten set screws alternately so both ends are evenly recessed in their holes. Tighten turnbuckles to tension wires. Ensure that spreader bars are level prior to proceeding. |
GSO-CAP18 can be used on the spreader bars to provide finished appearance. |
